Chardonnay; who doesn't love it? This accessible yet powerful white grape has almost achieved cult status among wine lovers. Chardonnay once rose to prominence in Burgundy, where it was capable of great achievements. Over the centuries, the Chardonnay grape has spread across the globe: from Australia to California and from Argentina to South Africa. It has made its mark on every continent. But even within France, it still proves capable of surprising winemakers, as is the case with this Case Blanque: a pure example of craftsmanship.
A white wine from France
Although Chardonnay originated in Burgundy, it can be found in all renowned French wine regions, including the south of France. In Languedoc-Roussillon, it produces beautiful wines; the Limoux wines are legendary. However, the winemaker at Caze Blanque decided to move further west; with the Atlantic behind them, the vines full of Chardonnay grapes thrive here. A completely different style than what we're used to from Chardonnay, but certainly no less so in terms of quality.
What does Caze Blanque Chardonnay taste like?
You can always delight someone with a Chardonnay wine. Whether you prefer a full-bodied, thick, and creamy wine or a white wine bursting with tropical fruit, Chardonnay is always a good choice. With this in mind, Caze Blanque Chardonnay was developed: a distinctive glass yet retaining the accessible character for which Chardonnay is so renowned. The winemaker has truly delivered on both the aroma and the palate. Besides fresh citrus, Conference pear, melon, and red apple are also prominent: refreshing with a tropical touch. This is precisely why Caze Blanque is so well-suited for an aperitif, for example.
