A very impressive wine from Italian soil. It's headstrong, yet incredibly delicious. Not exactly a crowd-pleaser, but it offers fantastic value for money. Cembra Pinot Nero is a wine of many contrasts, yet it ranks among the top wines from Trentino. It's been a regular in our selection for years. However, recent vintages have consistently outperformed the previous ones. This year is no exception.
The Pinot Nero grape in an Italian wine
The base of this red wine is Pinot Nero. It sounds quite Italian. However, when we translate it, we arrive at Pinot Noir, a grape well-known to many wine connoisseurs. A grape that made a splash in Burgundy but has since spread throughout the world. Pinot Nero thrives particularly well in northern Italy, including Trentino.
Trentino is a wine region that may not enjoy enormous popularity, but it's definitely worth exploring. Unknown breeds unloved. The conditions in this Italian wine region are ideal for this unique grape. Pinot Nero thrives in wide temperature variations, something you often see in Trentino. And this is directly attributable to the fabulous flavor of Cembra Pinot Nero Trentino.
What does the Cembra Pinot Nero Trentino taste like?
After the grapes are harvested and fermented, however, the work begins. Aging in oak for 6 to 7 months gives Cembra Pinot Nero its refined character. The wood imparts flavor, but not too much. This allows the characteristic Pinot Nero aromas to be well preserved. The lush aromas and flavors of blueberry, raspberry, and cherry are clearly recognizable. Enjoy it slightly chilled; this allows the aromas to truly shine. A true hero from beautiful Trentino.
