Quinta de Chocapalha is a true family business, owned by Alice and her husband, Paulo Tavares da Silva, since the 1980s. From the very beginning, they invested directly in the vineyards and the winery. And that was a wise move. They have grown into a successful winery with a wide range of quality wines.

Quality wines from Chocapalha

The 45 hectares of vineyards are located just north of Lisbon and fall under the DO Vinho Regional Lisboa. The vineyards were already known as excellent vineyards in the 16th century. In 2000, the most recent plantings reached maturity, and the quality of the fruit had significantly improved. At that time, most of the production was sold to larger cooperatives. However, with the arrival of their daughter Sandra, who quickly established her reputation as an exceptionally talented winemaker, the family decided to further renovate their winery and begin producing their own wines. The name CH is a tribute to the owner's Swiss origins. This white wine is made entirely from Arinto grapes. The vines are planted in clay and limestone soil. The average age of the vines is approximately 25 years. The grapes are carefully harvested, ensuring that only the very best grapes are brought to the winery. The grapes are transported in small crates to the recently renovated cellar. Here, they undergo 21 days of fermentation in French oak barrels. After this, the wine remains in barrel for another nine months, with regular batonnage.

An elegant and refined wine from Chocapalha

The result is superb! An incredibly elegant and refined wine. Fresh lemon and mineral aromas. It has good texture, excellent acidity, and a long, pleasant finish. Ideal as an aperitif, but also pairs beautifully with various desserts and a cheese board.
