The Champagne Bollinger RD 2008 is a true embodiment of Madame Bollinger's visionary spirit and the result of an exceptional vintage. This old vintage, with a very low dosage, was disgorged just before release and bears witness to a magnificent and complex wine of incomparable splendor.
Pure Perfection vintage 2008
The 2008 vintage was characterized by changeable weather and a wide variety of harvests. In the Champagne region, grape varieties, crus, vineyards, and plots varied considerably. Stormy and gray months in July and August were followed by ideal conditions, allowing Bollinger to begin harvesting on September 15th. Optimal ripeness of 9.8 and total acidity of 8.5g/l were achieved, resulting in an abundant harvest of Pinot Noir and beautiful, botrytis-free grapes.
Very limited number of bottles of the Bollinger RD 2008
Maison Bollinger's knowledge and expertise ensured the grapes were kept in excellent condition, despite the changing conditions. This made 2008 an exceptional vintage, with richly aromatic Chardonnays and characterful, balanced Pinot Noirs.
The aroma and taste of the Bollinger RD 2008
The Bollinger RD 2008 is distinguished by its beautiful color, which shimmers with golden reflections. Seductive aromas of marzipan, stewed apricots, honey, and breadcrumbs accompany the fresh notes of bergamot (citrus).
The palate of this champagne is rich and precise, with a lively mousse. Citrus notes are followed by flavors of mirabelle plums and peaches, revealing exceptional complexity. Notes of fresh hazelnut and salinity combine to create an exceptionally long finish.
The Champagne Bollinger RD 2008 is a magnificent example of the excellence of Maison Bollinger's craftsmanship and a tribute to the exceptional 2008 vintage. This vintage invites you to drink and celebrate on special occasions, where it can fully express its timeless elegance and refined taste.
