We're actually cheating, because our oenologists are crazy about champagne. For that reason alone, Champagne R Gerbaux gets a head start with us. But actually, our love of champagne makes us very picky about these sparkling wines from France. Fortunately, Champagne R Gerbaux has won our hearts. It's a relatively young champagne house. While large houses often date back to the 18th or 19th century, Champagne R Gerbaux was founded "only" a century ago, in the Vallée de la Marne, named after the river of the same name.
The Champagne of R Gerbaux
R Gerbaux Champagne is a true family business, still owned by the same family. A superb example of craftsmanship that we still enjoy a hundred years after its founding. Currently, the fourth generation, Juliette and Pieter, runs the champagne house. The house owns a whopping 10.7 hectares of vineyards, a unique achievement even in the Champagne region. Many large wineries have long-term contracts with local winegrowers and produce only a small portion of their grapes themselves. At Champagne R Gerbaux, everything is managed in-house, which only enhances the quality of its champagnes.
Buy Champagne R Gerbaux L'Epicurien Brut Champagne
This Brut Champagne is one of the finest in our range. Its price-quality ratio is something we envy: it's so incredibly delicious. It's a blend of the three grape varieties characteristic of the Champagne region: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. The harvest is hand-harvested from our own vineyards, and after pressing, this premium champagne matures for an impressive five years on its own lees. Many other champagnes age considerably less, which only enhances the complexity of Champagne R Gerbaux L'Epicurien Brut. The aroma and flavor of white flowers, acacia, roasted hazelnuts, and cookie dough are striking. But there's more. Freshly baked brioche bread. Soft apricots and fresh peaches, and a distinct citrus note. A champagne to die for.
