This Prelude Grands Crus is made of half Chardonnay and half Pinot Noir grapes. Taittinger has selected the grapes exclusively from the finest Grands Crus vineyards. This rare blend is produced exclusively using first-press wines and offers the finesse and structure a great wine requires. A perfect balance between the mineral Chardonnay and the powerfully expressive Pinot Noir. A unique wine with a great richness of flavor.
Family business Taittinger
Jacques Fourneaux founded the Champagne house in 1734, making it one of the oldest Champagne trading houses. In 1932, Pierre Taittinger took over the house, and it adopted the Taittinger name. Gradually, he gained a reputation among the major Champagne houses through his innovative approach and focus on high-quality wines. After many milestones, Taittinger sold the Champagne house to an investment company, but it soon became clear that the values and quality of the champagne could not be guaranteed. Therefore, the family decided to buy it back in 2006. Now, with a young and enthusiastic team, led by highly experienced individuals, they work hard to introduce champagne enthusiasts to quality and family values. The Champagne house has 289 hectares of vineyards in the best locations in and around Reims. These produce approximately half of the annual wine demand.
The aroma and flavors of Taittinger Prelude Grands Crus
The color of this Prelude is brilliant pale yellow with silvery highlights. The bubbles are fine, forming a delicate, creamy head of mousse. The nose is subtle and fresh. The initial mineral aromas quickly develop into floral notes with hints of elderflower and spicy cinnamon overtones. This Prélude has a full, powerful flavor and a long, full finish. Taittinger Prélude Grands Crus is a delightful champagne with great charm, finesse, and passion. Prélude "Grands Crus" is a cuvée that makes an excellent aperitif or complements classic fish dishes.
