A delicious ruby-red wine made from a blend of Carignan, Grenache, and Syrah. Thanks to the excellent conditions in the Languedoc, these grapes were able to develop perfectly. The grape varieties complement each other beautifully in this fruity yet characterful wine.
High quality wines from Chateau Capendu
Jean-Claude Mas, first-generation winemaker, fourth-generation grape grower, and owner of Les Domaines Paul Mas, is a leader in fine winemaking in the Languedoc region of southern France. He took over the helm of the family winery in 2000 and has since prioritized sourcing the highest quality grapes from twelve private estates and leading growers in the Languedoc region. The result is charming wines that reflect the warmth and beauty of the region. Château Paul Mas is located between Pézenas and Montpellier, 10 km from the Mediterranean Sea. The vineyards cover 162 hectares in the Languedoc, Languedoc-Pézenas, Grés de Montpellier, and Pays d'Oc appellations.
La Comelle Corbieres is made from a blend of Carginan, Grenache, and Syrah. The grapes come from the Corbieres appellation, on the slopes of Mount Alaric. Here, the soil consists of chalk and clay, and the grapes also benefit from a Mediterranean climate. The vines are between 12 and 30 years old. At optimal ripeness, the grapes are harvested at night for maximum fruit expression. At the winery, the grapes are then destemmed and vinified separately. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 28 degrees Celsius, followed by three weeks of skin maceration. During this period, the skins are pumped over twice a day. Finally, the wine is aged for an impressive six months in oak barrels.
Enjoy the fruity La Comelle Corbieres
The result is an intense ruby-red wine with aromas of cherries and blackberries, complemented by spicy notes of laurel, tobacco, and vanilla. The palate is wonderfully fruity, yet also full of character and robust. The flavors continue into a long but pleasant finish.
