Chateau de L'Aumerade: A Historic Wine Estate in the Heart of Provence
Nestled among the picturesque hills of Pierrefeu, Château de l'Aumerade boasts a rich history dating back to the 15th century. Its 400-year-old vineyards are testament to timeless winemaking traditions. In 1932, the Fabre family took over with the vision to transform it into one of the most prestigious wineries. Today, L'Aumerade is one of 21 estates in Provence with the coveted Cru Classé status.
The estate covers 300 hectares, 80 of which were awarded the Cru Classé designation in 1955. Located near the Massif des Maures mountains, the land benefits from clay and limestone soil, enhanced by the sea breeze, creating ideal conditions for producing wines with a pronounced fruity character.
The unique bottle, designed by Charlotte Fabre in the 1950s, is inspired by a vase by renowned glassmaker Emile Galle. The careful harvest and fermentation processes preserve the purity of the fruit, resulting in a wine of exceptional quality.
