Description
An iconic wine from the Châteauneuf-du-Pape region, this Château de La Gardine. You might wonder what makes this wine unique. Well, the three grape varieties each come from different soils and climates. This allows the Brunel family to create an exceptionally beautiful glass of wine that is full-bodied and powerful, yet also offers plenty of freshness and softness.
The different soil structures for Chateauneuf du Pape Rouge
The Châteauneuf du Pape wines from La Gardine winery are renowned. Their consistent quality, combined with the beautiful appearance of the bottles, makes them highly sought-after. We owe these delicious wines to Gaston Brunel, who founded the winery in 1945. It remains family-owned, and he passed on his passion and dedication to his sons. The vines, which are over 40 to 60 years old, are planted on three types of soil: the "rolled stones" of the Diluvium Alpin, better known as "rolled pebbles," which give this wine body and structure. The next subsoil is limestone with white pebbles from the Urgones, essential for achieving a beautiful minerality in this Châteauneuf du Pape. And finally, the brown soils provide finesse and elegance. It is this mix of soils that makes it possible to produce such a complex red wine, says Mr. Brunel. The vinification process of Chateau De La Gardine Chateauneuf du Pape Rood
The harvest is gathered and selected entirely by hand. They are then crushed and placed together in the fermentation tank. At the beginning of the fermentation process, the grape skins that rise to the surface are regularly immersed. After this, the wine remains in contact with these skins for another 5 to 10 days and is then transferred to concrete vats for malolactic fermentation. Finally, the wine is aged in oak barrels for 9 to 14 months. And oh, what a magnificent result that produces.Product details
