A beautiful château with all the authentic characteristics of Burgundy. The vines are ideally situated and planted at an altitude of 250 meters. The soil is rich in limestone on well-drained soils, creating a rich terroir. The climate also plays a significant role in viticulture. Thanks to their eastern exposure, the vineyards are protected from the wind by the western slopes. Furthermore, there is a significant temperature difference between day and night, so the cold at night drives the heat out of the vineyards. Ideal for the ripening process.

The 60 hectare vineyard of Chateau de Meursault

Château de Meursault boasts a rich history dating back to the 11th century. Today, it's owned by the Halley family, who took it over in 2012. And they certainly know how to manage the beautiful vineyards. The estate owns 60 hectares of vineyards spread across several villages in Burgundy. They own many top-notch crus vineyards, but the grapes for this Clos du Château come from an ungraded parcel on the property.

Manual harvest for Clos du Chateau Chardonnay

The Chardonnay grapes are carefully harvested by hand, then destemmed and pressed. The wines are aged in both new oak barrels (approximately 35 percent) and in one- or two-year-old barrels. After aging for 12-15 months, the barrels are blended just before bottling. The result is a Chardonnay that appears a brilliant yellow in the glass. Its aroma is full and creamy, with notes of yellow fruit and minerals. The palate is full and powerful, with a beautiful depth. No woody aromas dominate, but rather fruity notes of grapefruit, citrus, and tropical fruits such as pineapple, peach, kiwi, and apricot, complemented by light woody notes from the barrel aging. A pure and Burgundian Chardonnay.
