What a refined, classic wine this Savigny les Beaune is! Château de Meursault has managed to capture so many delicate nuances in this wine. The Savigny les Beaune region is also known as the Garden of God, supposedly because the 14th-century popes lived here in Aivnon. What's absolutely clear is that the wines produced here are superb. This white gem is an exceptional example.
The best of French Burgundy
The origins of the Château de Meursault winery date back to the 11th century and have had many owners over the years. The estate is known as one of the finest in Burgundy, France. The vineyards span 60 hectares in the Côte de Beaune region, located in the villages of Aloxe-Corton, Savigny-Lès-Beaune, Corton, Beaune, Volnay, Pommard, Meursault, and Puligny-Montrachet. The wines are vinified in impressive cellars dating back to the 12th, 14th, and 16th centuries. These cellars have a capacity of 2,000 barrels.
The Chardonnay grape is perfectly suited for this Pouilly Fuisse white wine from Burgundy. The vines are planted on limestone soil, which gives the Chardonnay grape its unique character. The grapes are carefully harvested and selected to ensure high quality. After alcoholic fermentation, malolactic fermentation takes place in oak barrels. The wine is aged in wooden barrels, approximately 15 percent of which are new. This process takes approximately 12 months, allowing the wine to develop its full flavor.
