A premium wine made from Syrah, Grenache Noir, and Carignan. Château Haut Gléon wines are known for their character, elegance, and refinement. They offer a wide range of flavors, presented in a distinctive and unique bottle based on a historic model from the château's storage rooms.
A combination of unique soil and modern techniques
As reflected in the chapel, Château Haut Gléon has been occupied since the sixth century, its refined grandeur unfolding from the lush greenery of the valley in which it nestles, in the aromatic plumes of its wines. Its history is closely linked to that of the Languedoc and represents the most distinctive characteristics of the province: grape growing, as well as the Visigothic, Gallo-Roman, and medieval cultural heritage. This unique past, combined with exceptional soil and modern techniques, allows Vignobles Foncalieu to produce a range of wines that derive their natural elegance from troubadour poetry, delighting both connoisseurs and gourmets, from the most discerning to the epicurean.
These grapes grow on the finest plots in the Corbiere wine region and are harvested by hand. Winemaking is done traditionally in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. A long, four-week maceration follows, with short daily pumping cycles for gentle extraction. Finally, this Château Haut Gléon is aged for a full twelve months in 228- and 300-liter French oak barrels. And this red wine thrives on it.
What does the Chateau Haut Gleon Corbieres Red taste like?
This results in a deep garnet red wine. Its aroma is highly complex. An intense bouquet of black fruit, mild spices, and hints of roasted coffee beans. It has an intense and structured flavor, full and round on the palate with soft tannins. It also has a long, fresh finish. In short, a delicious wine that pairs perfectly with risotto, duck breast, moussaka, meat served in sauce, or aged cheeses.
