This Château La Gaffeliere Saint Emilion Grand Cru Classe 1GCC is one of the great wines from this wine region. The family estate has belonged to the Malet Roquefort family for three centuries. It is located in Saint-Emilion, in the south of this region, where the most beautiful vineyards are found. In total, they have twenty-two hectares of vineyards classified as Grand Cru Classe 1GCC. The wines are crafted with great passion and expertise, with the aim of imparting long aging potential. Well, they have more than succeeded, and every year they produce the very best wines in the region. Since 2000, the family has embarked on a replanting program of many vineyards. This has proven very successful, and the wines have been further improved and developed.

Completely hand-harvested for this Chateau La Gaffeliere

This top-quality wine is made with two grape varieties: Cabernet Franc and the renowned Merlot. The vines are located in prime locations in Saint-Émilion, known as the "golden triangle." The climate is perfect, nestled between the hills of Pavie and Ausone. Abundant sunshine and cool breezes from the Gironde River create a unique terroir. This, combined with the ancient soil structures rich in green marl and limestone, completes the picture. When the harvest is ripe, all the bunches are harvested early in the morning, entirely by hand. Each bunch is inspected, and only the very best are selected for this Château La Gaffeliere Saint-Émilion.

The best wine from Chateau La Gaffeliere

This Saint Emilion Grand Cru Classe 1GCC is the flagship wine of Château La Gaffeliere. The black juice is aged in oak for at least 24 months, giving it its uniquely powerful flavor. Upon opening the bottle, we immediately smell the power of this top-notch wine. Ripe aromas of classic blackcurrant fruit complemented by spices and vanilla. In the glass, it reveals a dark red color with a deep purple rim that is very appealing. It smells of abundant black fruit such as blackberries, cherries, and currants, along with notes of vanilla, licorice, bay leaf, and a touch of chocolate. The palate is enchanting, with rounded tannins offering impressions of blackcurrant, cedar, and vanilla on the palate. On the cheeks, it offers a touch of spice, along with mineral notes and hints of licorice and licorice. A superb glass of wine that can age well in the bottle for many years to come.
