A white wine from Bordeaux? For a long time, this was unthinkable. They had been successful with red wines for centuries. While white wines were produced, they were primarily used for domestic consumption. The reason was that these white wines couldn't match the quality of the fantastic red wines from Bordeaux. This changed in the 1960s, when more and more wineries began focusing on white wines. This was rewarded with an AOC in 1996, making Château Lagrange Les Arums de Lagrange an icon.

Bordeaux wines from Saint-Julien

The left bank of the Gironne is also known as the Médoc. For centuries, this region has been the epitome of French wines. Many wineries have a long history and have never lost their popularity. One of the most beautiful villages is Saint-Julien, located just south of Pauillac (another gem!). The Château Lagrange winery has been located here for centuries. Over the past quarter century, Château Lagrange has planted approximately 11 hectares of its land to white grape varieties, ultimately giving rise to this Château Lagrange Les Arums de Lagrange.

Château Lagrange Les Arums de Lagrange is a blend of three outstanding grape varieties. Sauvignon Blanc accounts for almost two-thirds of the wine. In addition, 27% is Semillon, also a key grape in Bordeaux. The final balance is represented by Sauvignon Gris, a lesser-known grape variety but vital to Château Lagrange Les Arums de Lagrange. Harvest takes place in the second and third weeks of September, when the grapes are still full of flavor. After vinification, the juice is aged in oak for a full six months. Half of this oak is made from new barrels, giving Château Lagrange Les Arums de Lagrange an intense bouquet.

Impressions of Chateau Lagrange Les Arums de Lagrange

Chateau Lagrange Les Arums de Lagrange is a legendary wine, highly praised by true wine lovers. The aroma and flavor of this white wine from Bordeaux are truly exceptional. Naturally, it all begins with a wealth of citrus fruit, thanks in part to the Sauvignon Blanc. But it has something special: you'll recognize notes of fresh lemon, invigorating grapefruit, and fragrant orange peel. Remarkably refreshing on the palate with a distinct—but not overpowering—acidity. A slightly creamy finish completes Chateau Lagrange Les Arums de Lagrange.
