This beautiful red wine, Chiantari Nero D'Avola, is one of Zabu's top wines. The winery is located on the west coast of Sicily. This part of the island is much less well-known and not yet overrun by tourists. But we expect that to change soon; it's stunningly beautiful, with its lovely farmland and the crystal-clear Lake Arancio. This picturesque area is home to Sicily's most beautiful villages. But there's more beauty to discover, as the vineyards and the Zabu winery line the lake's shores.
The old Nero D'Avola vineyard of Chiantari
The old vineyard, filled with Nero D'Avola grapes, is now mature and producing a very full harvest. This is largely due to the excellent climate. Plenty of sunshine and a constant breeze from the lake contribute to a consistent harvest, allowing the grapes to ripen smoothly. The strong soil structure, where wine has been grown for decades, provides the Nero D'Avola grapes with everything they need. When the moon is bright, the grapes are harvested in the moonlight. This is why the moon is mentioned on the label, as it plays a crucial role during the harvest. Zabu harvests at night to protect the bunches from oxidation and bruising during harvesting. This keeps the bunches cool and allows them to bring more depth to the red wine.
Maturation for the Chiantari Nero D'Avola Terre Siciliane
The winery is affiliated with Farnese Vini and shares its experience with various winemakers. This vast knowledge is therefore evident in this top-notch wine. This combination of elements makes this red Chiantari superb, and we should really write that in capital letters. As soon as you pour this top-notch red, you'll see a beautiful ruby color. The aroma reveals ripe hints of plums, red flowers, black fruit, and a hint of stewed cherries. The palate of this Chiantari Nero D'Avola is warm, soft, and rounded with excellent structure and a long, ripe finish.
