The origin, grapes and craftsmanship behind this wine.

High-altitude vineyards, an excellent climate, good soil structure, and a passionate winemaker: these are the ingredients for high-quality wines from the Côtes du Rhône. These conditions create a beautiful balance between aromas, freshness, and minerality in Les Echalas Blanc.

Winemaker Stephane Vedeau embodies passion and innovation. He is closely connected to the vineyards and the grapes planted there. Elegance must be clearly evident in all his wines, and to achieve this, he strives to infuse them with as much freshness as possible. The cellar plays a crucial role in this. It is partially carved into the rock, allowing for consistent temperatures year-round. The grapes for this white wine are planted at an altitude of 410 meters in calcareous clay soils. This also gives Clos Bellane wines their unique character. Harvesting is carried out entirely by hand, after which they are brought almost immediately to the winery. The Roussane grapes are harvested relatively late to achieve the right fruit aromas. State-of-the-art equipment is used throughout the entire vinification process. The grapes are examined, and based on their character, they are determined whether to vinify them in stainless steel, concrete, or oak. Fermentation then takes place in oak barrels at the winery for one to three months. Finally, the wine matures further on the lees in wooden barrels.

A beautiful golden yellow wine appears in the glass. A wonderful aroma emerges of honey, quince, citrus, and white tuffle. The palate is equally expansive and rich. A good mouthfeel and freshness continue into the finish. The soft structure and length on the palate make it a great wine from the Côtes du Rhône.
