Some wines possess all the qualities needed to stand out from the crowd. Corette Viognier is one such wine. Everything seems to fall into place. It all begins with Corette's vision. The founders envisioned producing wines for everyday use. Corette Viognier is no exception. Distinctive and unique, yet accessible and incredibly friendly. This is also why Corette wines have captured the hearts of European wine drinkers in such a short time.
The French wines of Corette
When Catherine and Laurent Delaunay founded the Corette winery, they carefully considered the location of their vineyards. Languedoc-Roussillon boasts a vast area, but not all vineyards are of the highest quality. Corette's vineyards are relatively close to the Mediterranean Sea. This, in addition to enjoying record sunshine, also makes the vineyards relatively cool. This allows the Viognier grapes, among other grapes, to grow in ideal conditions. The Corette Viognier is harvested early in the morning, when the vineyards are still cool. This preserves the grapes' aromatic potential and minimizes oxidation.
Impressions of the Corette Viognier
The Viognier grape has earned a great reputation thanks to the wines from the Rhône region. However, this delicate grape is also increasingly being grown outside this region. This includes the Languedoc-Roussillon, where the founders of Corette have selected a special vineyard. Thanks to their dedication, the Corette Viognier has become a favorite of our vinologists. The aroma is lush and exuberant; exotic fruit effortlessly alternates with blossom, lavender, and acacia. The taste is soft yet exceptionally powerful and full. Hints of honey on the finish immediately reveal that this is a special Viognier.
