Coto de Imaz Reserva is a red wine from DO Rioja, a Tempranillo varietal. It is produced by the El Coto de Rioja winery, one of Spain's most renowned wineries, whose production dates back to 1970.

The finest wines at an affordable price

It was a group of winegrowers with extensive knowledge of Rioja viticulture who wanted to jointly establish a new winery. It has certainly been a success, and many winegrowers have since joined this fine winery. Together they produce the finest wines at excellent, affordable prices. They are proud of this, but it took hard work and significant investment. El Coto boasts a modern winery and the very best wooden barrels, guaranteeing quality year after year. Coto de Imaz Reserva is a classic wine from La Rioja. Their vineyards are located in Rioja Alta, in the town of El Cenicero, where clay-limestone predominates. The climate is continental with Mediterranean influences, extreme temperatures, and limited sunshine. This type of soil and climate favors the wine's later aging, as it produces excellent acidity and grape extract. Once the grapes are harvested and selected, Coto de Imaz Reserva undergoes alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. It is then macerated for 18 days and pumped regularly to achieve a balance between fruit and extraction. It is then aged for 17 months in 225-liter American oak barrels. It then matures in the bottle for 3.5 years before being released.

The result is a powerful, silky Rioja. With a ruby-red color and the typical orange glow of a Reserva wine. It has a rich aroma. Complex, with abundant ripe fruit and the finesse of a hint of cocoa. The wine is fleshy in structure. A true powerhouse with velvety, ripe tannins and beautiful acidity. And what length! Besides receiving positive reviews, Coto de Imaz Reserva was honored with a gold medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles in 2014.
