One hundred years after Cristal's creation, Champagne House Louis Roederer decided to create the Cristal Rosé cuvée. They selected vintage Pinot Noir grapes from the finest Grand Cru vineyards in Aÿ. These grapes are grown on unique calcareous clay soil, which gives them a distinctive minerality. The Pinot Noir is blended with 45 percent Chardonnay grapes, creating a unique marriage of the two. They complement each other in the glass, creating a delightful rosé.

Refined champagnes from Louis Roederer

Louis Roederer is known for producing the finest and most refined Champagnes, which in the early years were only popular in Russia. It was in that country that Louis Roederer achieved great fame and renown when the last Tsar of Russia requested his own Champagne in 1876. Louis Roederer didn't hesitate for a moment and created a top-notch cuvée. This cuvée couldn't have a soul in the bottle, as otherwise garnets could be smuggled in. This had happened several times before. The bottle also had to be entirely Cristal, which explains the name that still appears on the label today: Louis Roederer Cristal. The soulless bottle has always remained, but unfortunately, the bottle is no longer Cristal. Twenty percent of the wine is aged in oak barrels. The Cristal Rosé is produced using the saignée (bleeding) process after cold maceration. The Cristal Rosé cuvée is aged for an average of six years in the Louis Roederer cellars. Because perfection requires patience.

What does Louis Roederer Cristal rosé taste like?

The Cristal Rose hues light pink in the glass with green glints. The aroma reveals a fresh bouquet that is both intense and refined. The attack is aromatic with a remarkable fullness and soft, sweet flavors of white flowers, red fruit, and caramel. It has a full, rounded, and refined texture, characteristic of Louis Roederer champagnes. The structure is full of remarkable freshness and concludes with a delightful finish.
