A special bottle of wine with an even more special label. The label is based on the eye test you get at the optician's. It's a classic test with black letters on a white field, with the text gradually getting smaller. If you can still read the text with an outstretched arm, feel free to pour yourself another glass. If you can no longer see what it says, it's time for bed.

Organic viticulture at d'Arenberg

The Australian wine company d'Arenberg was founded in 1912 in the South Australian wine-rich McLaren Vale region. While most of the grapes used to make d'Arenberg wines come from this region, some fruit also comes from vineyards in the Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu Peninsula. All vineyards used for this brand's wines are certified organic and biodynamic. Low yields, strong root systems, and preservation of the soil's natural quality are the key environmentally friendly principles responsible for the natural acidity and concentrated flavors of the fruit grown here.

Take the test and enjoy d'Arenberg The Stump Jump White Blend

The White Blend is composed of 52 percent Sauvignon Blanc, 38 percent Riesling, 5 percent Marsanne, and 5 percent Roussanne. The grapes are gently crushed after harvest, fermented under controlled temperatures, and pressed before bottling. A crisp, refreshing white blend with a hint of sweetness. Sauvignon Blanc contributes to the exalted nose of tropical fruit, while Riesling is more pronounced on the palate with delicious flavors of lemon, lime, and green apple. Aromatic, enjoyable, and easy to drink, this wine is wonderful with or without food. The label originated from the rumor that the inventor of the Stump Jump plow, which allowed a plowshare to jump over tree roots, had poor eyesight and had to be tested regularly to ensure he could still operate machinery. Hence the eye test on the bottle. Take the test and enjoy another glass of wine.
