A true Chilean rosé made from the Zinfandel grape. Yes, we're talking about De Gras Estate Rosé. This delicious rosé comes from the renowned Chilean winery Montgras, a winery we've proudly carried for years. However, this winery's history isn't very long. In 1993, the Gras brothers decided to collaborate. With Hernán's background in the wine world and Eduardo's commercial and entrepreneurial experience, this proved to be an excellent decision. The two brothers complement each other perfectly, and this is reflected in the friendly and welcoming atmosphere within the company. Montgras wines are renowned worldwide, with this De Gras Estate series as its foundation.

The best rosé wine from Chilean Zinfandel

The Zinfandel grapes grow in the best conditions. This grape thrives in warm temperatures, similar to those we're used to in Puglia with the Primitivo grape—indeed, this is the same grape as Zinfandel. Because the vineyards for Zinfandel are planted inland in the Colchagua Valley, they receive plenty of warmth from the sun. The cooler nights create a refreshing undertone in these grapes that is very pleasant. The harvest for this Chilean rosé is done entirely by hand. Only the finest fruit is selected for pressing, a characteristic we clearly taste in this pure De Gras Estate rosé. After harvest, the grapes are transported to the press in small crates. To preserve the delicious freshness, the wine is aged in stainless steel vats.

The scent and taste of De Gras Rose

The result is certainly impressive. Unlike what we've come to expect from a good rosé wine, this wine has a deep pink color. However, this doesn't necessarily mean it's sweet. Quite the opposite. On the nose, we noted beautiful, soft aromas of ripe red fruit like strawberries and raspberries. On the palate, the nuances of red fruit are wonderfully pronounced, with raspberries being the most recognizable. To beautifully balance this rosé, we also noted a fresh citrus note, creating a pleasant contrast. The finish is rich and bursting with red fruit, leaving a wonderfully fresh finish on the palate.
