The growth of Delas

The Delas Frères winery was founded in 1835. Almost fifty years later, this winery had built a global reputation and won its first gold medals. After the Second World War, demand for wine soared, and to meet this demand, the company invested in the acquisition of vineyards in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Hermitage. In the 1960s, Delas Frères was one of the leading wineries in the Rhône, with its own vineyards in Hermitage, Cornas, Côte Rôtie, and Condrieu. To this day, Delas Frères owns top vineyards. Delas Frères Côte du Rhône Rouge comes from vineyards planted in a small valley north of the Ardèche, near the villages of Saint-Julien and Saint-Alban.

A soft and ripe red wine from Delas

After being harvested by hand, the grapes are destemmed and macerated for fifteen days in sealed vats. The grape mass is stirred daily with a pump to maximize color and flavor. Fermentation is entirely temperature-controlled and lasts an average of 28 days at thirty degrees Celsius. Lactic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. Approximately thirty percent of this red wine is aged in oak barrels to impart a light oak note. The aroma is a warm bouquet of red and black fruit with very light spices. On the palate, this Delas Côte Du Rhône is soft and very ripe, with refined flavors of blackberry, currant, vanilla, light spices, and jam. A true gem in our range.
