We can only describe Delbeaux Premium Chardonnay Colombard in a few words. Full-bodied, round, and delicious! This white wine immediately caught our attention upon pouring! The beautiful golden yellow color alone is a feast for the eyes. The pleasant bouquet of tropical fruit, peach, apricot, and a sultry hint of vanilla is a true feast for the eyes. The taste is as we would expect from a fine Chardonnay: wonderfully full, round, and intense. Thanks to the oak aging that some of the wine has undergone, this Chardonnay Colombard also has a pleasantly "oily" quality. The palate boasts phenomenal nuances of apricot, peach, vanilla, yellow cream, and a touch of fresh citrus at the back. The finish is perfectly rounded with some ripe, full notes. Wow, what a winner!
The old Chardonnay and Colombard vineyard of Delbeaux
The grapes for this delicious Delbeaux Chardonnay are grown in the Languedoc-Roussillon region, nestled between the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, amidst a perfect climate. A climate where the warm sunshine of the day harmoniously interplays with the cool nighttime and the fresh sea breeze—nearly perfect conditions for these Chardonnay grapes. The cool nighttime also imparts a pleasant freshness to the grapes, ensuring this white wine is not overly heavy. Harvesting is carried out entirely by hand, ensuring an extremely strict selection of the grapes. The winemakers strive to press only the finest fruit for this white wine. After vinification, this delicious white wine is left to mature. 50% is aged in stainless steel vats and 50% in French oak barrels. This results in even greater suppleness and structure for the wine.
