This full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon is the most powerful red wine in the Denis Marchais range. We've known these wines for a long time, of course, because their quality is unparalleled. This is largely due to the trading house LaCheteau, which is behind Denis Marchais' wines. The expertise in winemaking in southern France is immense, thanks in part to the five hundred winegrowers affiliated with this wonderful cooperative. They constantly exchange experiences and ideas, resulting in truly outstanding harvest quality. Modern winemaking also influences Denis Marchais's flawless wines.
The old vineyard of Denis Marchais
The vineyards for this red Cabernet Sauvignon are located in the south of France, specifically in Pays d'Oc. Several different vineyards are used for this red wine, all of which share similar characteristics. A rich soil structure with plenty of limestone, gravel, and clay allows the Cabernet Sauvignon to draw abundant nutrients from the soil. The perfect climate, with abundant sunshine and a cool breeze, gives the harvest time to ripen slowly. This allows the bunches to become thick and full, a characteristic that is evident in the aroma and flavor of this red wine.
The full taste of Denis Marchais Cabernet Sauvignon
Upon opening the bottle, we knew for sure: a Cabernet Sauvignon with ripeness and power. It immediately offered a beautiful aroma of blackcurrant fruit. In the glass, it blew ruby red with a purple hue characteristic of Cabernet Sauvignon. We lifted the glass to the nose and smelled a broad bouquet of herbs, blackcurrant fruit, vanilla, and a touch of plum. The same notes were found on the palate, along with lovely, light tannins that made the wine very exciting. A full finish remained on the palate, with some pepper and bay leaf spiciness, as well as plenty of ripe black fruit.
