We've had a long wait, but here it is, the top rosé from Domaine de la Janasse. The vineyard, filled with Grenache and Syrah grapes, covers only 3 hectares. The location is perfect, and the roots are now deep in the chalky soil. This results in beautiful, full clusters at Domaine de la Janasse.
The blend for this Domaine de la Janasse Rose
Domaine de la Janesse is a family winery founded in 1973 and located in the commune of Courthézon, in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. It has become one of the Rhône's benchmarks in just a few decades, starting with fifteen hectares of vineyards and now growing to around ninety. The blend for this rosé is composed of seventy percent Grenache and the remaining thirty percent Syrah. The vines are cultivated without pesticides or insecticides, and the fertilizer is natural. The land is tilled without herbicides to maintain soil aeration and flexibility.
The soils from which Domaine de La Janasse Côtes du Rhône Rosé originates are diverse. They consist of sandstone, clay, limestone, and pebbles. The vines range in age from ten to sixty years, and all are farmed organically and biodynamically. All vineyards are harvested by hand. This rosé wine is made using the tapping technique. The grapes are tapped with the skins for a few hours and macerated until the must has developed sufficient color. Once this is achieved, the must is fermented in barrels without the skins. Finally, Domaine de La Janasse allows the wine to mature in tanks at a controlled temperature for four months, allowing it to settle.

The palate is smooth and flavorful, with abundant red fruit and subtle notes of currants and grapefruit.
