A red Sancerre wine—you don't find them often, especially not in this quality. This red Salmon Sancerre is unique, powerful, full-bodied, and very stylish. That's not surprising, as the family winery has been run by the Salmon family for six generations. The founder of this beautiful winery is Irénée Salmon. Together with his sons, they established vineyards on the most beautiful slopes of Bué. This makes it one of the finest wineries in the Sancerre region, and its wines are renowned worldwide. This red wine is made from a very small vineyard of just five hectares. This vineyard is filled with Pinot Noir grapes and grown in the best climate in the entire region.
The harvest of the red Salmon Sancerre
Red Sancerre wines are unique; only a few come onto the market, but they're worth it! Stylish through and through. This also applies to this red Sancerre from Salmon; the Pinot Noir grapes grow on the slopes of Mount Bué. Here, the conditions are ideal for producing a red Sancerre. The rich soil provides the Pinot Noir grapes with the right nutrients, and the climate enriches the grape clusters. Each cluster is harvested by hand, and after harvest, a portion of this red wine is aged in oak barrels.
