Description
How this wine is made
This Burgundy is made entirely from Pinot Noir , coming from various plots around Meursault, Volnay and Pommard where Xavier Monnot has been working for years with low yields and sustainable vineyard care.
About Domaine Xavier Monnot
Located in Meursault, Domaine Xavier Monnot is one of the more modern producers in the Côte de Beaune. Monnot is known for his precise style, working parcel by parcel and highlighting the diversity of Burgundy's soils. The estate manages approximately ten hectares spread across prominent villages such as Meursault, Volnay, and Pommard, giving their regional Burgundy wines greater depth than is typical in this category.
The 2022 vintage explained
The 2022 vintage is an exceptionally good year, with wines that are remarkably pure and concentrated, yet retain a ripe style with freshness. 2022 produces wines that are already very accessible without sacrificing structure or elegance. For a Burgundy Pinot Noir, this has resulted in a remarkably balanced and friendly style that both offers immediate enjoyment and matures beautifully.
Food pairing
Pinot Noir from the Côte de Beaune is refined enough for dishes with subtle flavors. This wine pairs perfectly with roasted chicken, turkey, grilled salmon, pork tenderloin, or creamy mushroom risotto. It also pairs beautifully with soft red-veined cheeses.
