Description
The Schlumberger family originates from Souabe, a German region that is now part of Bade Wurtemberg. Claus Schlumberger was the first to settle in Guebwiller in the sixteenth century during the reign of the monks "The Princes Abbés." Unable to tolerate the monks' dominance, he moved to Mulhouse, a free and Protestant city. Originally, the Schlumberger family was a tannery family until Nicolas Schlumberger planted twenty hectares of vineyards and expanded the family cellar in 1810. During his marriage to Marie Elisabeth Bourcart, Nicolas had nine children, with Jean Schlumberger taking over from his father. Today, this beautiful Alsace winery remains family-owned, and this is reflected in the mature wines.
The best blend of the finest grapes from Alsace
This white S from Domaines Schlumberger is instantly the best-selling and most famous wine from this beautiful Alsace winery. For this white wine, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Noir grapes are grown in the best locations in Alsace. Specifically, the vineyards are located in Schimberg, Bollenberg, Searing, and Spiegel vineyards. The climate is perfect for the grapes: plenty of sunshine, natural cooling winds, and falling nighttime temperatures. This allows the grapes to grow evenly and absorb all the benefits of the rich soil structure. At ideal ripeness, the grapes for this white S are harvested entirely by hand. Each bunch is inspected individually and vinified separately. Then, Domaines Schlumberger's art is to create the perfect blend for this S de Schlumberger. Well, they've more than succeeded, and the entire wine matures for a full eight months in the Schlumberger cellars. The smell and taste of the S de Schlumberger
It's simply a joy to drink, and it's so nice that this white wine is made with a red grape. This gives it its strength and finesse, something we notice even upon pouring. A beautiful light yellow color with green glints. With our noses over the glass, we smell a powerful aroma of ripe fruit and acacia, as well as a touch of red apple. The palate is equally beautiful, a beautifully rounded flavor with a very pleasant mouthfeel. Ripe notes of yellow fruit, red apple, grapefruit, and lime. This white wine naturally has a slight tingle that makes it very exciting. The finish is refreshing and powerful.Product details
