With roots dating back to 1574, Dopff Au Moulin is synonymous with tradition and quality, positioning itself as one of the most venerable family wineries in the world. The Dopff family has proudly and passionately passed on its rich winemaking tradition from generation to generation. Around 1900, Julien Dopff, inspired by his experiences in Reims (Champagne), put Alsace on the map with his revolutionary sparkling wine, produced according to the "methode traditionelle." This innovation laid the foundation for what we now know as "Crémant d'Alsace." Julien also introduced the characteristic tall, slender bottle for Alsatian wines, an innovation he tested by shipping wine to Australia. With this, Dopff Au Moulin left an indelible mark on Alsace's winemaking tradition.

The Careful Harvest of the Riesling

Under the leadership of Pierre-Etienne Dopff and Etienne-Arnaud Dopff, Dopff Au Moulin continues to shine, with particular attention paid to their Riesling—a wine of depth and complexity, thanks to the old vines from which it is sourced. While the Dopff family owns their own vineyards, they also foster long-standing partnerships with winegrower friends, who are considered extensions of their own family. These close ties contribute to the impeccable quality and purity of their wines. After a harmonious growing season, the Riesling grapes are carefully hand-picked, with only the finest bunches selected during the early morning hours.

Tasting notes: Dopff Au Moulin Riesling

Once pressed, the carefully selected grape bunches reveal a rich structure. After careful aging in the Dopff Au Moulin cellars, the Riesling is a true delight for the senses. Upon opening the bottle, we are greeted by delicate and refined aromas. In the glass, scents of yellow fruit, spices, orange, and a hint of green apple unfold. The palate is elegant, with a silky smooth mouthfeel and a perfect balance between fruitiness and freshness. The finish is rich and leaves a lingering impression of fresh apples, a testament to the masterful art of winemaking at Dopff Au Moulin.
