A progressive Blanc de Blancs. As the name suggests, made exclusively from white grape varieties. Precisely what Austria excels at. A sparkling wine with its own character, yet with the trusted quality of the Durnberg estate.
A sparkling wine from Austria
Durnberg Winery has been a leader in Austrian winemaking for many years. Through pure passion and a true friendship between three friends, they have become one of the top Austrian winemakers. Besides their great success in still wines, primarily based on Gruner Veltliner, they have taken on a new challenge: sparkling wines. Our vinologists can confirm that Durnberg's sparkling wines are at least as good as their flagship still wines.
The grapes for Durnberg Sparkling Blanc de Blancs are grown on the Durnberg estate in Falkenstein, just north of Vienna. In addition to the well-planted Gruner Veltliner, Durnberg utilizes two other grape varieties: Riesling and Traminer. This gives this sparkling wine its own unique character. The grapes grow at a particularly high altitude, where daytime temperatures can be warm and nighttime temperatures can be quite cool. This is perfect for the grapes, which develop a rich flavor profile this way.
Impressions of Durnberg Sparkling Blanc de Blancs
The grapes are harvested under the strict supervision of the winemaker. Only the finest bunches are allowed to become part of Durnberg Sparkling Blanc de Blancs. Once the grapes arrive at the winery, they are fermented in stainless steel vats. This is to emphasize the freshness and invigorating character of Durnberg Sparkling Blanc de Blancs.
Ultimately, you get a delicious bubble. Unparalleled in flavor. Exactly what we'd expect from the all-rounder Durnberg. You'll discover refreshing aromas of citrus fruit, fresh apples, and a hint of lychee. The refined mousse, with its elegant bubbles, makes Durnberg Sparkling Blanc de Blancs a pleasure to drink.
