Durnberg Winery made waves with their impressive still wines. They were particularly successful with their national pride, Gruner Veltliner. Besides Gruner Veltliner, Austria boasts another popular local grape, Zweigelt. Less adapted than Gruner Veltliner, it remains inextricably linked to Austrian wines. Uniquely, Durnberg has created a sparkling wine with this grape, which, in our opinion, is an excellent alternative to rosé champagne.

What does Durnberg Sparkling Rose Zweigelt taste like?

The Zweigelt grapes are grown on the Durnberg estate, located near the village of Falkenstein. This village is the heart of the important Weinviertel wine region, situated north of the Austrian capital, Vienna. This region has long been known for its impressive wines, and with the arrival of Durnberg, this reputation will only be further cemented. The Zweigelt grapes are fermented in stainless steel vats to emphasize the wine's freshness and fruitiness. The aroma and flavor are distinct and intense. Think fresh strawberries, soft raspberries, and a hint of Morello cherries. A hint of citrus is also present. The soft mousse rolls over your taste buds like velvet.
