It now boasts 70 years of age and produces a top harvest with deep, powerful bunches. This red wine is made entirely from Tempranillo grapes, naturally planted in the best location in the Rioja region. Situated in San Vincente de la Sonsierra, the grapes receive everything they need. Abundant sunshine contributes to the ripeness of the bunches, and the cool breeze blowing through the vineyards refreshes the grapes, ensuring a long and controlled ripening season.

Wood aging for the El Pacto Rioja

Once the grapes have reached their perfect ripeness, they are harvested in the early morning. This is done to prevent damage to the bunches and to preserve the freshness and acidity of the grapes. The grapes are transported to El Pacto in small crates weighing no more than fifteen kilos, where each bunch is hand-harvested to ensure only the finest juice reaches the bottle. After pressing, this El Pacto Rioja is aged for a full fourteen months in both French and American oak barrels. The use of different types of oak makes this red Rioja even fuller and more powerful. It's a beautiful wine, and at this price point, it's a real gem.
