Varietal(s) Chardonnay

Weingut Emil Bauer has been established in the Palatinate for five generations. This wine region, one of the most productive in all of Germany, is known for its use of classic grape varieties. However, Emil Bauer is a modern winery, and they also decided to cultivate international grape varieties. This experiment has paid off handsomely, because this Emil Bauer Chardonnay is a true joy to drink. Highly recommended. Unlike the well-known Chardonnay wines from France, however, that doesn't mean you should underestimate Emil Bauer Chardonnay.

Impressions of Emil Bauer Chardonnay

The Chardonnay thrives surprisingly well in the Palatinate. Because the grapes grow in the Rhine Valley, the mountains block the wind and cold. Moreover, the sun shines abundantly. This is reflected in the fruity character of the Emil Bauer Chardonnay. It has an enticing aroma of melon, apple, and soft pear. You'll be seduced. You'll want to lift the glass, filled with this beautiful wine, to your lips. Take a sip and be amazed. You'll get goosebumps and want more of this wine. You'll taste abundant fruit that delicately unfolds around your taste buds. The balance of freshness and fruitiness is excellent. Beautifully executed by the magnificent winemakers at Emil Bauer. Pair it with fish and seafood for the best tasting experience.

A prize winner from Weingut Emil Bauer

We're not the only ones who are big fans! Renowned wine journalist Harold Hamersma was also very impressed with Emil Bauer Chardonnay. In the 2019 edition of the renowned Grote Hamersma magazine, this wine received a whopping 8 out of 10. An incredible score, something Emil Bauer can be quite proud of. Harold compared Emil Bauer Chardonnay to a Burgundy, albeit with a slightly tighter and fresher finish. If that's not a huge compliment, we don't know what is! We're certain it'll be a celebration with Emil Bauer Chardonnay.
