This Estandon Heritage Rosé from the Côtes de Provence is the flagship of this beautiful French winery. A rosé with a rich terroir and aroma, both in aroma and flavor. This is not surprising, as the vineyards used for this rosé are among Estandon's oldest. The winery was founded in 1947 by Jean Bagnis. It proved to be a never-ending success story, having received hundreds of awards for its dedication and quality. This commitment was further increased in 1973 when a group of winegrowers joined forces with Jean Bagnis. They continued as a cooperative, which has further elevated the quality. Significant investment has been made in both the vineyards and a modern winery. This allows them to produce rosé wines with the utmost precision, a fact we can taste in this Heritage Rosé. Over the years, Estandon also acquired several vineyards in communes such as the Var and Bouches-du-Rhône. This is to achieve more diversity in the range.

The best rosé wine from Estandon

For this Estandon rosé, the very best grapes are grown in the finest terroirs of the Côtes de Provence AOC, with shallow slate and loam soils located in the Maures Mountains and on the slopes of a hill near Flayosc. Here, the climate is perfect, with abundant sunshine and cool breezes, resulting in a unique harvest. The vineyards are surrounded by olive trees and holm oaks, typical of the Côtes de Provence region. Winemakers Stephan Reinig and Catherine Huguenin harvest the grapes at night to protect them from oxidation and bruising during transport to Estandon.

The aroma and taste of the Estandon Heritage Rosé

What a handsome fellow this Estandon Heritage Rosé is! Upon pouring, it releases beautiful aromas, including ripe peaches, grapefruit, and a hint of lime zest. In the glass, this rosé transforms into a beautiful pale pink with a subtle red hue. All our senses are stimulated, releasing a beautiful aroma. Impressions of strawberry, raspberry, and lime are immediately noticeable. Later, as the wine settles, we also smell white flowers and pears. On the palate, we encounter a refreshing hint of grapefruit and fresh lime. Later, as the wine swirls in the mouth, notes of red fruit, fresh pears, and a touch of red apples emerge. The finish is long and minerally with a refreshing aftertaste.
