Fifth generation of the Descombe family

Famille Descombe is a true family business founded in 1905. It began small in the Beaujolais region, but over time the company has steadily expanded to include vineyards in Burgundy and, in recent years, the Rhône region. Since 2000, they have not only enjoyed domestic success but have also been allowed to export their wines to many other countries. Today, the fifth generation is at the helm. Marine Descombe focuses largely on modernization and the continued expansion of the number of vineyards. The wines are modern, with a distinctive style and a regional touch. Thanks to their expertise, and especially their extensive vineyard holdings, they are able to produce beautiful, top-quality wines. The Viognier grapes thrive in granite soil. Thanks to the temperate climate and abundant sunshine, the grapes can also ripen perfectly. The grapes are harvested at night when fully ripe, allowing the Viognier grapes to retain their freshness. At the winery, a strict selection process follows, after which alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. Finally, the wine is aged on the fine lees for approximately six months.

The result is an inviting wine with aromas of apricot, honey, and citrus, typical of the Viognier grape. On the palate, it's a delightfully light wine with refreshing notes. Despite its light character, this white wine has plenty of body and complex flavors. Tropical fruit, peach, and orange combine to create a beautiful palate. A fresh lime note follows on the finish.
