The Fernand Engel wine estate boasts a remarkable 62 hectares of vineyards, spread like a patchwork across the surrounding villages around Rorschwihr. Each plot has its own unique soil structure, microclimate, and unique location – the perfect ingredients for unique wines. Today, four generations work together in the business. Fernand, the grandfather, founded the estate and inspired his children and grandchildren to become passionate about winemaking. Together, they work hard to produce Fernand Engel's high-quality wines.
The Pinot Noir grapes are grown on marl-limstone soil. This soil is highly drought-resistant, making it ideal for wine production. At peak ripeness, the grapes are harvested and taken almost immediately to the winery. A rigorous selection process follows, as only the finest grapes are good enough. After a brief maceration and pressing, fermentation begins at a controlled temperature. Finally, the wine is left to rest for several months before being bottled.
A beautiful, intense pink color with fine bubbles. The aroma reveals fresh aromas of red fruit. These aromas are also evident in the taste, with raspberry and strawberry filling the mouth. A wonderfully full-bodied wine with a pleasant acidity that beautifully balances everything. Ideal as an aperitif, but thanks to its beautiful structure, this Rosé also pairs well with various meat appetizers or Asian cuisine.
