The perfect Pinot Noir grapes
On the coast of Sicily lie the vineyards of the Feudo Arancio winery. Over the years, they have grown into one of the country's leading wineries. In 2001, it was acquired by Mezzacorona and completely modernized. It is designed entirely in accordance with Sicilian traditions and with great respect for nature. Today, the latest and most modern techniques are used to vinify wine as effectively as possible. The team is young and dynamic, working with great passion and dedication in the winery. Where the winery was in need of renovation, the soil proved to be excellent. Therefore, they are still able to use old vines.
The Mezzacorona company already has extensive experience growing Pinot Noir. They were therefore confident enough to plant this renowned grape variety in Sicily. The grapes, along with the soil structure and microclimate, are meticulously studied. Only when these are perfectly matched and prove to be ideal for the grape variety are the vines planted. The nutrient-rich soil imparts beautiful characteristics, and the ideal climate ensures perfect ripening. Thanks to careful care, optimally ripe grapes are produced around September. These are carefully harvested and transported almost immediately to the winery. Low-temperature vinification techniques result in a juicy wine with beautiful aromas.
What does Feudo Arancio Pinot Noir taste like?
As soon as we pour the Feudo Arancio Pinot Noir, we're immediately struck by a beautiful bouquet of aromas. Warm aromas of dark berries are complemented by herbs and undergrowth, the latter thanks to a long aging process in oak barrels. On the palate, soft tannins unfold, with ripe blackberry flavors and a hint of rhubarb.
