Feuerheerd's Anchor Port has been a staple in our range for years. This Feuerheerd's Fine Ruby Port is no exception. This delightful young port is made from the classic port grapes Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barocca, and Tinta Cao. These exquisitely selected Port wines combine to create a beautiful blend and are then aged in large oak barrels to preserve their youthful, fruity character. This method results in a very pleasant young red port.

High-quality port wines Feuerheerd's

The port wine producer Feuerheerd was founded in 1815 by the German merchant Dietrich Matthias Feuerheerd. Today, the port house is owned by the Van Zeller family, who also own Quinta Roriz. This originally Flemish family has owned large properties in Mechelen and Nijmegen since the 13th century. In the 17th century, during religious wars, the family decided to settle in Portugal and Spain and acquired port houses there, including Feuerheerd's. They continue the tradition of producing high-quality port wines. After harvest, fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature, with one day of pre-fermentative meaceration and two days of fermentation. The grapes are not distilled. Finally, they are aged in oak barrels.

Enjoy this delicious taste experience

The beautiful ruby red color makes us curious about the aroma and taste. The nose is rich with red fruit aromas like plums and raspberries. The taste is wonderfully sweet, just as a Ruby Port should be. Soft and delicately present nuances of red fruit and light oak. The finish is silky smooth and wonderfully long. This port is a delightful tasting experience when enjoyed on its own. But it also complements various cheeses, chocolate, and specialty desserts.
