This Follador Prosecco is a Spumante, a full-bodied, sparkling Prosecco, just like a bottle of Champagne. The mousse/bubbles are therefore abundant in this Follador Prosecco, and the aroma is also slightly fuller and more powerful.
The rich history of the Follader family
The history of the Follador wine family dates back to the eighteenth century. Even today, they are a household name in the Veneto wine region. Follador Prosecco comes from the vineyards surrounding the town of Treviso, just north of Venice. The spumante has its own DOC. Upon first encountering the wine, its elegance is immediately apparent.
Follador is a true family business. They are passionate about their winemaking heritage. Father Gianfranco Follador is still at the helm, but the new generation is taking over more and more responsibilities. Michele is in charge of overall management, and his three sisters, Francesca (oenologist), Emanuela, and Cristina, are responsible for vinification, administration, and export, respectively. Everything is still under their own management. The grapes also come from their own vineyards, but they also purchase additional grapes from fellow winegrowers with whom they have long-standing good relationships.
The taste of top quality
Everything at Follador exudes quality. The must ferments in state-of-the-art stainless steel tanks, optimally extracting the aromas and flavors of the grapes. The second fermentation, which creates the mousse, takes place using the Charmat method (also known as Cuve Close). After this process, the wine is aged on its lees for a longer period than usual, allowing the bouquet and flavor to further develop. You can smell and taste this. Follador stands for quality and authenticity.
Beautiful aromas of white peach, pear, apricot, and almond. The palate is wonderfully soft and refined, with lovely small bubbles and plenty of crisp fruit notes of apple, citrus, gooseberry, and ripe pear. This Follador Prosecco Spumante is delicious as a toast or aperitif!
