A perfect combination of Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Nero

An hour's drive from Milan and you arrive at the precious Ca' del Bosco winery. Here, wines are produced with great joy and passion. Ca' del Bosco is owned by Maurizio Zanella, one of the most important producers in the region, if not all of Italy. Zanella played a major role in the Italian wine renaissance of the past decades. Zanella's work led to the Franciacorta region obtaining DOCG status in 1995. This status applies only to sparkling wines made according to the metodo tradizionale (the method used to make French Champagne). With an impressive 30 times the maximum score in the Gambero Rosso, Ca' del Bosco is one of the most highly regarded and successful wineries in Italy. The Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, and Pinot Nero grapes are vinified separately. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in thermo-conditioned steel tanks, where the wines are stored until the following March. This is followed by seven months of aging, which is necessary to clarify, mature, and bring out the character of the vineyards of origin. The wines are blended from reserves of the best vintages (at least 20 percent). Aging on the lees lasts an average of 25 months. Each bottle is uniquely marked to ensure traceability.
