Gérard Bertrand Art de Vivre Clairette du Languedoc
This exceptional white wine from Gérard Bertrand's Art de Vivre series spotlights a native grape: Clairette. The wine comes from Adissan, a historic village in the Languedoc region renowned for this grape variety since ancient times. In keeping with the series, this wine is also presented in a ceramic bottle, inspired by Roman amphorae, as a tribute to the region's rich history.
Vineyards and Region – Clairette from the heart of Adissan
The vineyards are located around Adissan, one of the few places in the Languedoc where Clairette is traditionally grown. The soil here consists primarily of limestone and clay, which provides structure and freshness. Thanks to the Mediterranean climate, the grapes ripen well, while the proximity of hills and winds provides cooling. This contributes to the wine's aromatic complexity.
Vinification and maturation – pure expression of terroir
After harvest, the grapes are gently pressed. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature to preserve Clairette's freshness and typicity. A short maturation on the fine lees adds roundness and depth, without the influence of wood, allowing the terroir to express itself purely.
