Biodynamic wines from Gerard Bertrand
Gérard Bertrand is a winery deeply rooted in the beautiful terroirs of the Languedoc and Roussillon, owning no fewer than 16 châteaux and estates. What sets this winery apart is its belief that viticulture, in partnership with nature, is the key to unique wines. Early in its history, Gérard Bertrand took the bold step of implementing biodynamic practices in its vineyards. This has led to their global recognition as pioneers and experts in biodynamic viticulture. Gérard Bertrand is known not only for his masterful blending skills but also for his boldness and creativity. Together with his passionate teams, he strives to promote and share the wines of the South of France with wine lovers worldwide.
Gerard Bertrand Heresie Red is a blend of Grenache Noir, Mourvedre, and Syrah grapes. These grapes are vinified separately using traditional methods. Syrah is aged for a period of time, revealing aromas of black fruit and spices, while Mourvedre adds licorice notes. The Grenache grapes are completely destemmed and macerated at a lower temperature for five days to allow the fruit to fully express itself. This creates roundness and elegance in the final blend.
