Gérard Bertrand La Grande Bleue Bio
La Grande Bleue is an organically certified red wine from Gérard Bertrand, inspired by the power and beauty of the Mediterranean. This cuvée pays tribute to the maritime influence on the Languedoc vineyards and symbolizes the connection between land and sea. A wine with a sunny character, produced entirely according to the principles of sustainable and biodynamic viticulture.
Vineyards and region – Mediterranean influences and fresh sea breezes
The vineyards for La Grande Bleue are located near the Mediterranean Sea, on clay and limestone soils. Thanks to the Mediterranean climate with abundant sunlight and the constant influence of the sea breeze, the grapes ripen evenly while retaining their fresh acidity. The proximity of the sea and the garrigue creates an aromatic profile with characteristic spiciness and freshness.
Vinification and maturation – soft extraction and fruit-driven style
After careful selection, the grapes are vinified separately in stainless steel tanks. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature, with gentle extraction to preserve the fruit and structure. A short maturation on the fine lees adds depth without losing the fresh character.
Grape composition
This blend consists of Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvèdre. The Syrah provides structure and dark fruit notes, Grenache provides smoothness and aromatic red fruit, while Mourvèdre adds spice and length.
Tasting notes
The wine opens with aromas of blackcurrant, plum, and Provençal herbs. On the palate, it is round and balanced, with soft tannins and an elegant, Mediterranean finish.
Serving suggestions
Pairs perfectly with grilled vegetables, ratatouille, or a Provençal stew. Serve at 16 to 18 degrees Celsius for the best balance of fruit and spice.
