Manual harvest for Gran Vino Pazo Barrantes Albarino

Gran Vino Pazo Barrantes Albariño is produced from Albariño grapes grown on the Pazo de Barrantes estate, located in the Salnés Valley in Galicia, Spain. The estate covers 12 hectares in eight different plots surrounding the winery. The soil of the estate consists of granite with a sandy topsoil, and the average age of the vineyard is 40 years.

The grapes are harvested entirely by hand and taken directly to the winery. After careful selection, the grapes are destemmed and gently and slowly pressed in a pneumatic press. The must is then clarified and fermented in stainless steel tanks for approximately 30 days at a temperature of 10 degrees Celsius. After fermentation, the wine is stored with the fine lees in stainless steel tanks for another 3 months. The aging process includes 6 months in stainless steel tanks, and approximately 15 percent of the wine is aged in 225-liter acacia barrels. This creates a harmonious balance between the fresh, fruity notes of the Albariño grape and the subtle woody influences of the acacia barrels.
