Varietal(s) Gruner Veltliner

An expressive Grüner Veltliner with slightly spicy notes and a hint of lemon balm and green apple. The grapes are planted on terraced vineyards on the left bank of the Danube, from Spitz to Loiben. Here, the Grüner Veltliner ripens perfectly thanks to the excellent microclimate. The final wine is delicate, creamy, and with a fruity finish. A delicious wine for pure drinking pleasure.

Quality wine from the seventh generation of Gritsch

The Mauritiushof was built in the 13th century and served as a reading place for monks from Lower Altstadt (Bavaria). The name "Mauritiushof" originates from the nearby parish church, dedicated to St. Mauritius. The historic building came into the possession of the Gritsch family in 1799. Today, the seventh generation is at the helm. Tradition and traditional knowledge go hand in hand here. The soil structure, in particular, is unique and is evident in every Gritsch wine. The elegant Kalmuck Grüner Veltliner Federspiel from Lower Austria is based on grapes of the Grüner Veltliner grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Lower Austria, in various vineyards on the left bank of the Danube. The vines are deeply rooted in soils of loam, sand, and loess. The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand and brought directly to the winery. A strict selection process follows to ensure quality. This is followed by pressing and fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. After this, the Kalmuck Grüner Veltliner can continue to mature on the fine lees for several months.

The aroma and taste of Gritsch Kalmuck Grüner Veltliner

The Kalmuck Grüner Veltliner radiates a brilliant yellow color in the glass. Its aromas reveal lilies, roses, and violets. The fruity notes of the bouquet are complemented by more fruity-balsamic nuances. Ideal for wine lovers who prefer minimal residual sweetness. It's a light, crisp white wine that's delightfully light and crisp. It pairs perfectly with fish dishes.
