A delicious, juicy, and fruity Spätburgunder from Haltinger. A fresh wine with a light spiciness that gives it a bit more bite. Haltinger is a quality cooperative from the renowned Baden wine region. This light red wine is high-quality yet attractively priced. Highly recommended with various dishes or simply enjoyed on its own.

Completely hand-harvested for Haltinger Spätburgunder

The modern Haltinger cooperative was founded in 1936 by 60 active winegrowers. The wineries are located in the municipalities of the same name in the southern triangle of Baden, straddling the borders of France, Germany, and Switzerland. They own approximately 42 hectares of vineyards spread across the Haltinger Stiege, Weiler Schlipf, Tüllinger sonnenunden, and Ötlinger Sonnhole vineyards. The Baden wine region is one of the warmest in Germany, making it perfect for growing grapes. The Mediterranean Sea provides the necessary cooling, allowing the grapes to ripen optimally. Haltinger wines have a distinctive character with unique characteristics. The Spätburgunder grapes come from plots on the southwest side of the hill. The soil consists of weathered limestone with a loess layer. This contributes to the grape variety's unique characteristics. The grapes are harvested entirely by hand, ensuring that only the best grapes are selected for the final wine. In the winery, a traditional fermentation on the skins follows for three weeks. The wine is then allowed to rest for a period of time before bottling.

Enjoy the soft and full taste of Haltinger Spätburgunder

Haltinger's Spätburgunder is somewhat reminiscent of a red Bordeaux thanks to its garnet color. The nose surprises with aromas of blackberries and cherries. Spätburgunder has a smooth, soft, and full flavor with hints of cherries, berries, forest fruits, and a light spiciness. It's not overly heavy, making this Spätburgunder perfect for many occasions. Delicious with mushrooms, grilled red meat, poultry, and creamy cheeses.
