The grapes for the 2025 vintage ripened beautifully and uniformly thanks to a perfect climate with abundant sunshine in the Central Valley. The wind from the Andes Mountains provided the necessary cooling and a sharply dropping night temperature, which preserved the freshness of the harvest.
The big name behind Heritage wines is the family-owned Santa Helena winery. Now we understand why this white Chardonnay is so beautiful. Founded in 1942, the winery is located in San Fernando, where the modern winery is located. All the modern gadgets are present to produce a crystal-clear white wine. Heritage wines are also made in Chile by winemaker Nicolás Pérez-Yañez. And he's no stranger to premium Chilean wines.
The Chardonnay vineyard in Central Valley
The Chardonnay vineyard for this white Heritage is located in the heart of the Central Valley wine region. Here, the climate is perfect for the grape, with abundant sunshine. The grapes ripen beautifully evenly and retain their freshness thanks to the wind from the Andes Mountains. This wind cools the harvest and causes a sharp drop in nighttime temperatures. Once the grapes are ripe, which is determined by winemaker Nicolás Pérez-Yañez, they are harvested in the early morning. This is to prevent damage and oxidation during transport to the Heritage winery. Upon arrival, the bunches are thoroughly inspected, unusable bunches are removed, and the remaining bunches are then pressed immediately.The aroma and taste of the Heritage Chardonnay
As soon as the cap is opened, we smell a vibrant aroma of tropical fruit, with apricots and pineapple taking center stage. Upon pouring, we see a bright golden yellow color. The wine clings to the glass, revealing a thick structure. The most beautiful aromas emerge from the glass, with notes of exotic fruit, citrus peel, fresh apricots, and a touch of quince. On the palate, the tongue is teased by a mild note of mango, peach, and pineapple, with a slight hint of grapefruit.
