This is undoubtedly one of Braida's top wines, made from Barbera, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Pinot Noir grapes. This red wine from Piedmont, specifically Monferrato, reveals a great deal of depth and richness. The Braida winery owes its success to Giacomo Bologna, who revolutionized the Langhe wine region's long-standing traditions with a new Barbera style. He chose to apply winemaking techniques differently, which earned the winery considerable praise. Today, Giacomo's technique is widely used, and he is known as the Barbera King of Piedmont.

The best wine from Monferrato hill

The grapes come from vineyards nestled in the hills of Monferrato. Il Bacialé is Piedmontese dialect for the "matchmaker" who used to bring together members of prominent families. Just like this wine, where Barbera blends perfectly with other grapes. The Barbera, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Pinot Noir grapes are harvested separately and aged in oak barrels. Large and small oak barrels are used for this red wine to give Il Baciale more depth. And they succeeded, and after twelve months of oak aging, it also undergoes a further six months of bottle aging. The result is a perfect red wine from the hills of Monferrato.

Full and very powerful this Braida Il Baciale Monferrato

In the glass, it gleams ruby red and reveals a thick texture. We take our glass and swirl it thoroughly to release all the aromas. We noted notes of blackcurrant, plum, and a touch of pepper and cinnamon. The palate is robust and complex with a deep, broad flavor. The palate is pampered with black fruit and light spice. The beautifully soft tannins provide the finish we crave: long and ripe.
