Quality at a top price. That's the motto of the Il Cigno winery, located in Abruzzo. And to be precise, the vineyards are located in Terre di Chieti. The old vineyards are in beautiful condition, and that's no surprise, as the winemaker pays close attention to the vines, resulting in a fantastic harvest. Over the years, Il Cigno has invested heavily in a modern winery without losing its old Italian traditions. This is a modern red wine made from two major grape varieties.

The old vineyard for the red wine il Cigno

This wine is made from two Italian powerhouses: Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and Sangiovese. Both grapes grow on vines at an altitude of 150 meters. Thanks to the cool Adriatic Sea, these grapes become wonderfully juicy and full-bodied. After a long ripening period, the bunches are harvested at night to protect them from oxidation and bruising. Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes are thoroughly checked and inspected, ensuring that only the finest bunches nourish this red wine. The result: a pure and clean Italian wine where youthfulness takes center stage.

The aroma and taste of the il Cigno Rosso

When you pour this wine and smell it, you'll think of only one thing: This is Italy through and through. You'll smell a delicious aroma of red fruit, along with subtle hints of herbs like thyme. You just want to take a sip. We say go for it! You'll be amazed by the wine's balanced character. Because the grapes have received so much attention, they have plenty of room to develop, and you can taste it. Plenty of black fruit, cassis, and herbs. Delicious with a hearty pasta dish or an Italian barbecue!
