He was also called the Barbera King of Piedmont, Mr. Giacomo Bologna. In the 1980s, he created a new style of Barbera wine that is still widely produced in the region today. The beautiful Braida winery is located on the Tanaro River and boasts a top-notch restaurant, because there's nothing better than good food paired with the right wine. The name Braida comes from Giacomo's father's nickname, as this top handball player was nicknamed "Braida." He was driven and possessed great perseverance in handball, a trait reflected in Braida's wines.

The Composition of this Braida Il Fiore

This beautiful white wine comes from vineyards near Serra dei Fiori in the commune of Trezzo Tinella in the Langhe region. The location is perfect, as it lies at an altitude of 400 meters above sea level, and the grapes enjoy abundant sunshine but also a great deal of coolness. This is reflected in the taste of this white wine. It is made from two Italian grape varieties, Chardonnay and Nascetta, which complement each other perfectly in this Il Fiore. Once the grapes have reached full ripeness, they are harvested by hand and subject to strict quality control. Purity and strength are among the key qualities of this white wine. This wine is aged for four months in the Braida cellars, making it fuller and creamier. The bottles of Il Fiore wine are bottled and then aged for another three months in the Braida cellars. The result is an unparalleled beauty from the Langhe region.

What does Braida Il Fiore wine taste like?

The moment we poured it, we were already sold, as the wine had a golden yellow color and a creamy texture. In the glass, all its aromas were released, offering impressions of exotic fruit, fresh flowers, and a touch of melon and citrus. The palate was captivated as it received a rich burst of exotic fruit. Later, as this white wine rolled around in the mouth, we also tasted citrus fruit and some minerals, along with a touch of green herbs. The finish was fresh and lingering, making this glass of Langhe truly complete.
